Hucknall Day Nursery - Facilities

Professional and quality care for your child

Settling in

Each child's needs are different and most adapt to nursery life very quickly. We work together with parents to assist settling in and treat each child as an individual, settling in sessions will be discussed at registration.

We expect all of our children to have good standards of discipline and behaviour. We will endeavour to encourage this throughout their time with us.

Sickness and absence

Any children suffering from an infection, sickness or diarrhoea should be kept at home to avoid cross infection. The nursery should be notified of all sickness absences. Every effort will be made to contact parents if a child is taken ill at the nursery but the Officer-in-Charge may have to contact a doctor or take the child to hospital to avoid delay.

Safety and first aid

The nursery is registered and inspected by OFSTED. We are also inspected by the Environmental Health and Fire Service departments. We regard the security and safety of the children as a priority.  All doors are security coded preventing intruders entering the building and preventing any child running out of the nursery. All nursery play areas are securely fenced in and both indoor and outdoor equipment receives regular safety checks by trained staff.

We have qualified First Aiders and any accident will be recorded in the Accident Book. Parents or authorised collectors will be asked to countersign the book so that they are aware of the action taken. Fire drills are practiced and recorded on a regular basis.

Safe Guarding Children Policy

We are under obligation to the local Social Services and OFSTED to report any incident or suspicion of child abuse, without the permission of a parent or carer.

We are OFSTED inspected and have previously achieved pleasing results. A copy of our report is available at your request.
